Inventory of Medicinal Plants in West Sumatra Province that has the Potential to Treat Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract This study aims to identify plant species with potential anti-diabetic properties. From March June 2022, this research was conducted in West Sumatera, Indonesia, 5 regencies, 56 villages, and through interviews 179 community leaders. survey interview is descriptive nature. The findings revealed that there were 44 belonging 33 families. Leaves, seeds, bark, tubers, rhizomes, stems, fruit skins, other components are utilized. Medicinal herbs processed by boiling, squeezing, pounding, drying. Various local wild cultivated plants have the be used as medicinal plants, particularly DM medicines.
